Evaluation

I think that the pitch went well because it only took one take for it to all be done. I think one of the strengths of the pitch was that I had listed out the pros and cons of using different types of advertising to show how they can be both good and bad. A weakness is that I didnt put in a budget, but I am going to put one in my folder.

The Hawth Visit Recce

We have been to the Hawth theatre and have asked various questions about the live setup for the awards ceremony. There is a lighting rig already set up, and we will have to bring our own projector. The lighting and sound is controlled by the lighting and sound board to the right of the audience. The cameras will be college handycams on tripods, so there will be no wires that the live crew will need to worry about. We will need to get release forms from the parents of any children under the age of 16 so that we can film the audience during the event. We have done the Health and saftey forms for the event and there is nothing that is too much to worry about. The highest risk is electrocution, but you would need to be playing about with the wires to get electrocuted, and none of us will be.

I have put my name down for project manager and the live team. With project managing, I will have to make sure that all of the different sections that are working on areas to do with the awards ceremony are running smoothly, and that if there are any problems with them, that they are sorted out. With the live team, I will be responsible for either the filming and live editing, the sound or the lighting.

We have also been designig the logo for the awards ceremony. The name for the ceremony is SCAMPs (Students of Crawley Awards for Media Production). When everyone has come up with a design, we will pick the best one and then put it with the best poster design.

I have designed 4 different designes for possible advertising posters and tickets for the award ceremony. These are just mock up's. The group is going to vote for the best ideas, and then they will be produced with the intention of being put up across Crawley so we can get the best sized audience for the awards.

I have looked at the BAFTA awards today. The advertising for the event came from ITV. This is because they have a deal so that the BAFTA's get free advertising, while ITV gets increased ratings. The awards recognise the best of British Film and Television.

Today, I looked at the V festival that is happening across the UK on the 16th and 17th of August. The V Festival is a music gig. It is sponsored by Richard Bransons Virgin Mobile firm. The gig contains 6 different gigs over the 2 days and has many big music stars.
